“Lust, Caution” Banned From Oscars

Director Ang Lee’s  newest movie, “Lust, Caution”,  which has been barred from
running for an Academy Award in 2008 for apparently breaking Foreign language
film rules. In 2006 Lee was on top of the world after  The Best Oscar for the
film “Brokeback Mountain”.

“Lust, Caution” was expected to compete for a prize at next year’s Academy Awards,
but Academy bosses have now ruled that Lee’s crew members were not Taiwanese.
this movie was also popular in Taiwan.”

Taiwan’s Motion Picture and Drama ssociation have promptly filed an appeal to the
decision are now awaiting a response.  If the ruling stands, Lee will have to wait for his
next venture to have a chance at an Oscar again.
